Closing Update- The BSE Sensex was up 387.14 points at 33,600.27, whereas the NSE Nifty was up 105.20 points at 10,440.50. The market breadth was positive as 1515 shares advanced against a decline of 1274 shares, while 154 shares were unchanged.
Bharti Airtel gains 8.47%, State bank of India up 4.59%, ICICI Bank advanced 4.58% and HDFC up by 2.68%, being the top gainers. On the losers side, Dr. Reddy’s Lab falls, 3.06%, Power Grid fell 1.41%, Hero Moto Corp 1.17% and Sun Pharma fell 0.90%.
A total of 139 stocks clocked a fresh 52-week high today, while 12 stocks touched a fresh 52-week low on the NSE.
The market got a major boost up from the released World Bank report, which heightened India by 30 notches at 100 in the rankings of World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business.
